An Argentine citizen who had been living in Luxembourg for over 20 years needed several documents from her home country translated—including her birth certificate, marriage certificate, and criminal record—in order to apply for Luxembourgish citizenship.
Since these documents were in Spanish, their official translation was a prerequisite for acceptance by the local authorities.
